Radio Station- Cornerstone Church has been awarded a low power FM radio station from the Federal Communication Commission.  KLYN 95.7 launched on November of 2006 and has been going strong for 3 years.  We have been working hard to get the station running up to par and have seen great progress.  KLYN is a mostly Adult Contemporary music station with the flavor of New Mexico mixed in.  We play the best in both Spanish and English Christian music.  We broadcast 24 hours/day sharing great music, uplifting but challenging Christian programing and encouragement from the Word of God to those living in Las Vegas.  Tune in every Sunday morning at 10 am for a live broadcast of Cornerstone Church.  KLYN 95.7 FM Your Good News Radio Station.

Love Your Neighbor fund was created immediately after the Community Transformation Seminar.  In a meeting with former Mayor Henry Sanchez of Las Vegas, he stated his concern for low income and elderly citizens' inability to pay their utilities, which are subsequently disconnected.  Since then we have organized the "Love Your Neighbor Fund"(LYN) .  By sending out notices in the monthly city billing, LYN recieved over $2000 in donations and helped about 30 families with a $50 voucher each in just the first year.  The following churches have donated funds toward administrative costs so that all donations will be used to assist those in need.  Cornerstone Church, Immaculate Conception Church, St. Paul's Peace Episcopal Lutheran Church, The Salvation Army and Victory Life Church.  The Salvation Army will be administering the funds as they are already disbursing PNM funds.  A board was assigned to oversee all income and expenditures of funds.  We invite you and your organization to send in a donation, as funding permits, to the following address so that we may continue this very worthwhile effort.

Shalom Ministries- "Reaching Troubled Youth Before They Reach Prison"   Don Compton, Director and Founder of Shalom Ministries has been in close contact with the awesome ministry going on in the community of Las Vegas.  He shared with Cornerstone Church about his ministry and his vision for the future.  Shalom Ministries began in Santa Fe, NM in 1970 as a coffee house outreach to troubled youth (hippies) in northern NM.  The cry of that day was for an end to the Vietnam war and PEACE, therefore the name SHALOM.  Since its inception in 1970, Shalom Ministries has been an outreach to troubled youth in need of answers to personal problems.  Today, Shalom ministries focuses on youth in New Mexico's juvenile detention centers or who are on probation or parole.  In Shalom's Friends for Life outreach, volunteers develop lasting friendships with hurting youth in detention.  These much needed friendships continue after the youth leaves the detention center.

Shalom Ministries held a meeting recently with representatives from Springer Boys' school, CYFD, NMHU Social Work Program, Luna Community College, and Director of the Cornerstone Spiritual Growth Center, Harold Esquibel to discuss the possibility of a Transitional Home for boys released from the Boys' School to attend Luna Community College and using the same model for the men's home.

Police Chaplain-The Ministerial Fellowship has recieved a request by the Cheif of Police, Tim Gallegos, to offer pastoral as well as counseling services to the police officers of Las Vegas, civilian personnel and their families.  Thirteen interested clergy in our community attended a meeting recently for a  presentation by the Albuquerque Chaplains.  The ministers are now attending a citizen's academy for the duration of 17 weeks.  In order to further familiarize themselves with the lives of policemen, the ministers are also riding with police on their assigned shifts.

Community Transformation Seminar with guest speaker Ed Delph of N.A.T.I.O.N.Strategy (www.NationStrategy.com)  was held November 7,8 2003.  The purpose of this seminar was to discover how the five spheres of influence in a community; Government, Business, Education, Media and Religion can work together to better their community in practical and lasting ways.  There was great response to this call to action from the community.  In fact such great things have been happening here in Las Vegas that Ed Delph asked Pastor Mark Saiz to speak at his fundraiser dinner in Phoenix, AZ about the action going on in the community since the seminar.
