Family Fall Fiesta
This Fall, for the second year, Cornerstone is joining with other churches, community organizations and the City of Las Vegas, to create a fun and safe atmosphere for all the families in Las Vegas for Halloween.  We're calling it a Family Fall Fiesta.  The event will be at the Abe Montoya Recreation Center,at 6:30 pm, all families are invited to have a carnival-type fun event.  There will also be organized sports events, swimming, jumping pens, a rock-climbing wall and a bike giveaway.
Mark Schultz in Concert
Recently, Mark Schultz stopped by Las Vegas, NM to perform a concert on his way across the United States.  Mark Schultz was moved to do a bicycle tour from coast to coast in order to raise money for widows and orphans.  He paired up with the James Fund, a charity organization.  We were blessed enough to be in his path and were able to organize a benefit concert at Memorial Middle School.  The concert was a great blessing to all of us in Las Vegas who were able to attend the show.  And all of those who participated in this event were able to bless others in need.  Thanks to all who made this concert a success.

VeggieTale Premiere

Thanks to BigIdea.com, we were able to hold a family fun event at Cornerstone to prescreen the new Larry Boy movie, Larry Boy and the Bad Apple.  Not only did we get to see the movie before its release but we had a blast viewing the preshow, quizing the children on VeggieTale trivia, and playing lots of cool games.  The kids also got a great lesson on fighting temptation and learned a great memory verse.  Look out for the next VeggieTale Family Fun Event!

City Wide Easter Egg Hunt

Each Year for Easter we like to do an outreach to our neighborhood to share the Easter Story and have a fun day for the kids.  In April 2005 and again in 2006, we expanded our horizons from reaching our neighbor hood to holding a City Wide Easter Egg Hunt for the whole city of Las Vegas.  Held at Lincoln Park, we gave away free hot dogs & Coca-Cola and had face painting, games, a coloring contest, a Jumping Pen, Easter Egg Hunt, and even Spongebob was there!  What a great day we had and a great way to share Christ's Ressurection with the community.

Blankets
The women of Cornerstone joined together on Saturday afternoons to make blankets for those in need.  The vision began with Eileen Saiz as sewing and crafts has always been a strong talent of hers.  She began researching different organizations who do this sort of ministry and then rallying other seamstresses to help.  The blankets turned out beautiful and have gone to a few families of reservists from Las Vegas who served in Iraq.  Blankets also were donated to elderly people through Victory Home Health.  Currently the blankets are going to the clients of Zoe Pegnancy Center.

Angel Tree

Cornerstone Church has been participating in the Angle Tree Program by Prison Fellowship Minsitry since 2003.  Through this program, we have the opportunity to connect prison inmates with their children by purchasing Christmas gifts on their behalf and sharing the love of Christ with them through evangelism.
